0x80040600 error alerts when you try to read, delete, send or receive emails.
You may also receive the following error when you try to delete an email: "Messaging interface has caused an unknown error".

Download and install the repair tool.

Step 2
After installing the tool click on "Select PST File" if you know the .pst file location.
If you are not aware of the .pst file location click on "Search PST File", at the search window click "Start" to start the pst search.


Step 3
After the search is done select your pst file with 0x80040600 error and click "OK".
(Make sure the file extension is .pst)

Click on "Start Recovery".

This error is related to outlook .pst file. PST (Personal Storage Table) is used by outlook to store your emails, contacts, notes, calendar entries, and other outlook's data on your hard drive. When your PST get damged and outlook can't access it you will get the above alerts.
To resolve this issue, use the PST Repair tool to analyze and repair your file. After the repair is done, the software will create a new healthy .pst file 0x80040600 error-free.
This new pst file will include all the previous data you had before the error occurred.
